Honest Review

The Yamaha PSR E373 is a great beginner friendly keyboard. While it may not boast 88 keys – a full set of keys that account for all ranges in the scale, with its limited 61 key set, it is a great tool for learning the skills needed to master the piano. This review is based on the perspective of someone learning the piano (myself) and while I do know how to play a few songs, I am by no means a professional. That in and of itself is a key component of why this specific keyboard is so great, for one it is made by Yamaha, an indisputable name in the audio technology industry, and two its unique form factor allows for beginners to better grasp chords and notes without having to worry too much about octaves.

This keyboard, while not classified as top of the line has many features that compete with other models. With over 500+ voices (musical instrument sounds) it is a great way to play notes and chords you already know and have them transposed in a sense to sound like other instruments. However, as the keyboard is targeted toward beginners, there are some drawbacks – the biggest being that there are only 61 keys, and while that is fine for starting out, it does present some challenges when learning songs that have and need higher octaves and keys.
